Ultimate Guide to Drupal 8 | Acquia

Link
https://www.acquia.com/resources/ebooks/ultimate-guide-drupal-8?cid=701a0000000…
Whether you’re a site builder, module or theme developer, or simply an end user of a Drupal website, Drupal 8 has tons in store for you. This ebook will enumerate the major changes in Drupal 8 for end users, for site builders, for designers and front-end developers, and for back-end developers. Note that since Drupal 8 is still under active development, some of the details here may change prior to its release. Drupal 8 is now feature-frozen, so most information should remain relevant. Where applicable, Drupal 7 contributed equivalents of Drupal 8 features will be noted.

Epic Class Uses Google Glass for Storytelling #WearableWednesday « adafruit industries blog

an interactive web series which follows two characters that believe the internet is becoming a conscious entity. The Glass acts as a messenger for the entity’s thoughts. The writer, Eben Portnoy, allowed for typical scripting, but also live Tweet mining during the filming. Here’s how it was accomplished. For this fictional story about characters embodying “the global brain,” student programmers Chung and Karan Chugh had to create a “machine-learning” algorithm that would automatically select real tweets that would become dialogue for the actors.

SLUDGE Adventure Game Engine - Home

Link
http://opensludge.sourceforge.net/index.html
SLUDGE (standing for Scripting Language for Unhindered Development of a Gaming Environment) is a system by which anyone (within reason) can make an adventure game. It runs in any recent version of Windows and now also on Mac OS X and Linux. It's high-res (any resolution you want) and uses 32-bit colour. To make your own SLUDGE games you'll be needing the SLUDGE Development Kit; to play the games, the SLUDGE Engine is required (it's included in the development kit download and should typically be distributed along with the games).

GNU Octave

Link
http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/
a high-level interpreted language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides capabilities for the numerical solution of linear and nonlinear problems, and for performing other numerical experiments. It also provides extensive graphics capabilities for data visualization and manipulation. Octave is normally used through its interactive command line interface, but it can also be used to write non-interactive programs. The Octave language is quite similar to Matlab so that most programs are easily portable.
