video… recorded from the TV channel DW, providing a view of wearable technology at this years IFA as well as an interview with Wolfgang Langeder. According to DW, at the IFA 2020 we will see electrified clothing enter the mainstream market, where Hi-Tech fashion probably will occupy much more exhibition space, building a more common sight compared with the current novel status of wearable technology.

OP-1 - Introduction - Teenage Engineering

Link

8 built-in synthesizer engines, multiple effects and LFO’s. And some really unique sequencers ready to explore. Connect it to your computer and control your DAW with the common play, stop, rec, forward and rewind. Use the 4 rotary encoders and 8 x 2 dedicated quick keys for fast selections. Record everything on the built in 4-track tape. Match the tape speed to the sequencer clock for some really nice overdubbing with changing pitch. Change tapespeed while recording, or even record backwards in realtime.

The Four Stages of Giving Up Photoshop - Cognition: The blog of web design & development firm Happy Cog

Slowly, and subconsciously, my mind shifted from asking “Why doesn’t this work like Photoshop?” to “Why does Photoshop work like that?” For so long, I had accepted Photoshop as the standard because I thought it was my only option for design. But, being good at creating websites in Photoshop means knowing useful but convoluted workarounds for simple tasks that it just isn’t built to do natively. Which of the numerous unintuitive methods do you use to wrap text around an image?

Adactio: Journal—Navicon

Link
http://adactio.com/journal/5666/
I vaguely recall someone posting examples of 'open nav' icons (eg Path and Facebook) showing an emerging de facto standard. Link? "Unless our navigation’s arranged in a grid (and so we should use a grid icon), I’m putting my weight behind three lines because I think it’s most recognisable as navigation to the average person." The three-lines icon is certainly very popular, as can be seen in this collection of mobile navigation icons I gathered together on Dribbble.

* Introduce a new grouping pattern in the form of a sidebar, to allow for easier scanning of settings and avoid the space-consuming vertical tabs. * Placing the primary publishing options closer to the action of saving. * Update the look & feel of Seven to solve a number of visual design issues. * Introduce a more consistent pattern for actions.
