Jensen and his roommate came up with an idea to leave the paintings on the street with a sign attached that said, “Free Art. If having this art will make your day better, then it’s yours.” It started as an experiment. They thought maybe no one would pick it up, maybe a homeless person would take it or worse, someone who didn’t even like it would snag it just because it was free.
The first painting, which depicted a young Paul McCartney with Beatles lyrics pouring out of his head, was left on a bench in Manhattan. It was gone in seconds.

There’s a huge diversity of art on a variety of themes. Below is a snapshot of a selection of some entries based on a theme of Food.
The theme I chose for my entry was Thread and Surface, in which I began an exploration, in the sketchbook, of a second in my Books of the Dead series.

the artists wrote custom software that deconstructs a 3D model's source code and produces unique fragments. They further remixed these fragments using an original application created in Processing. The resulting images become limited edition prints, wall-sized paintings, animations, and most recently, a permanent public art installation at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communication, opening October 19, 2012.
On September 5th in Orlando, FL people started their day with art installations springing up around the Mills50 and downtown area. For one day artists participated in the “Walk On By” show curated by The Corridor Project. Everything from Yarnbombing to performance art was taking place. Here are some photos from the show taken by artist Lesley Silvia.
Leah Fairchild did an installation in front of Urban ReThink in Thornton Park called "public library." Its a box with books inside. Very simple. But you can take the books. You can leave your old books behind. You can write a book and leave it. How fun is this?
Listening without speaking alludes to eavesdropping and the covert monitoring of communications. The audience can influence the clarity of the message by adjusting the controls on the machine, giving a physical side to the sense of searching and trying to hang on to the messages. However, the piece includes the deliberate design of interfering with the descrambling process to cause the gradual degradation of the audio so that the messages eventually become engulfed in machine noise before cutting off suddenly to silence.
