This year I had the privilege of being invited by David Hwang to join his ongoing series, originally title, "The Imposter Monologues". This year's theme was "Thank You" and this potpouri has become a sort of group therapy session for Drupal community members. A few years ago, I had an idea to make the kind of conference I'd like to attend. Turns out the Art and Algorithms event in Titusville looked like a really great version, but I didn't get the chance to check it out. When I go to BarCamps and other similar events, I often advise people to decide on their mission, and who their audience is before they start a new project, so here is my shot at it:

The title of this post is a quote from Brad Kuhn, the author of an article about Craig Ustler, the Creative Village, and Urban ReThink. I found the line so nonsensically entertaining that I decided my next endeavor would pay homage to his coined phrase. The invisible frisbee in his article was referring to e-commerce. Is there any commerce today that is not e-commerce on some level?

I've been thinking a lot lately about projects that were created with the idea of collaboration introduced early in the lifecycle (that is in comparison to when it was released to the public), or that were intended to be collaborative from the beginning. Namely, I've been trying to find a good way to start one, or become involved with one, for the better part of 5 years.

It has been a long time "maybe someday" project for me to build a blog aggregation website for Orlando content, as well as a Podcast site akin to the old ODEO, but again, featuring locally produced podcasts. In the last few months, I finally scratched those two off my list.

In my past few years trying to create community, I have had to make a lot of decisions, whether conscious or not, about my environment. By environment I mean not only the room I'm sitting in, or the street I'm on, or the neighborhood, or even just the state of the US. I'm also talking about the people around me, individual beings, their companies, organizations, movements and activities. Then there are the memes, which seem to travel on air currents, over IP tubes, or via word of mouth at varying speeds.

I'm having a day of nostalgia. I was fiddling with a few things over on the Liberatr site (which seems totally redundant now) when I decided to sample a few of the early episodes of You Can't Spell Crapface Without PFA. I was having such a great time, I listened to one of the shows all the way through, and laughed the whole time!
