This man purchased a cheap Tube Amp, and rather than simply accept the poor quality, he upgraded the crap out of it with some better components. If you can't open it, you don't own it.

A barrel oven is a versatile and highly efficient wood-fired oven that’s relatively easy to build, and easy to use. It can be the seed for a small-scale baking enterprise or the heart of a community’s wood-fired cuisine. All kinds of food can be baked in the barrel oven, including bread, roasts, pizza, cookies, cakes, pies, casseroles, and stews.
they are getting help, and it comes from within the community, including the new downtown Canvs shared workspace, designed to attract and nurture early startups like Salpeter’s. With the planned Creative Village project and a larger UCF satellite campus on the drawing board, government, educational institutions and leading businesses are taking a supporting role, with the stated goal of turning Orlando into one of the Southeast’s premier startup hubs. That suits Mark Salpeter just fine. “I really like Orlando,’’ he says. “I feel (the tech community) is growing a lot and there’s room to grow.
The concept of a plate reverb is quite simple. An electromagnet, like the one found on a audio speaker, is directly or indirectly coupled to the center of a piece of sheet of metal. Audio from a sound source is fed into this electromagnet (voice coil) which will physically vibrate the piece of sheet metal (plate). These audio vibrations are echoed many times, echos which are in fact persistence of audio. The amount of persistence (reverberation) is determined by the physical characteristics of the plate.
Now that I had a working voice coil (driver) ready for mounting on the plate reverb unit, it is time to fabricate a coupling link that will directly connect the driver to the plate. But first, I need to do something with this mess I made while performing that gruesome surgery on our patient. A quick sweeping with my trusty broom and......wait a minute - broom - broom handle... Perfect! A broom handle is the right size for making a driver coupling link.
an event for hackers whose medium is art and artists whose medium is tech. A typical Art Hack Day event brings together 60 artist-hackers and hacker-artists to collaborate on new works in a hackathon-style sprint of 48 hours leading up to a public exhibition and party. The artworks often demonstrate the expressive power of new technology, radical collaboration in art or a critical look at how technology affects society. The technology used is typically open, and sharing source code online is encouraged.
From the same arts and technology troupe that produced the Osheaga visuals and live effects, to the Super Bowl halftime show, comes the "Foresta Lumina": a 20-30 minute luminous pathway experience inside an actual forest north of Montreal. The forest mixes interactive characters and high tech installations with giant projectors, laser printed lights, and futuristic costume design. The forest is their canvas and their interactive space is made to pop with their next level tech.
